Priority 2: Eco-innovation
Being a densely populated, economic powerhouse, the per-capita climate footprint of the North Sea Region is high. The region's countries all have stiff climate targets to meet.
A focus on green business is a win-win strategy. By fostering innovative eco-enterprise, we stimulate the regional economy and reduce the region's climate shadow at the same time.
Our projects change attitudes and behaviour, facilitating consumers and enterprises to conserve water, reduce waste, recycle materials, and adopt energy efficient practices and technologies.
In the VB period, the projects in priority 2 developed eco-friendly and low-carbon products or services and promoted their uptake across the North Sea Region.

- Promote the development and adoption of products, services and processes to accelerate greening of the North Sea Region economy.
- Stimulate the adoption of new products, services and processes to reduce the environmental footprint of regions around the North Sea.
