World premiere: Interreg podcast
Led by Interact, the transnational Interreg programmes are jointly producing a podcast series entitled "This Is Europe". This is the first time Interreg ventures into podcasting.
Each episode offers engaging peronal stories about cooperation in Interreg projects across Europe, showcasing why and how much they matter to local communities while helping to implement vital European policies.
The first episode zooms in on how Interreg helps Europe to become greener and meet its climate targets. It presents three stories, including one from the Baltic Sea Region (Multimodal cities) and two from the North Sea Region - INDU-ZERO and PARTRIDGE.
North Sea Region projects featured
INDU-ZERO helps the European Union to achieve its carbon-zero 2050 goal through a factory concept for energy retrofitting 22 million homes in the North Sea Region. The aim is to speed up energy renovation whilst bringing down the cost significantly. Ruitger Vrielink, manager of the Dutch housing association Domain, explains why this initiative is important for his association and its tenants.
PARTRIDGE works to increase farmland biodiversity by 30%. In the podcast, research assistant at The Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust Fiona Torrence and Scottish farm manager John Drysdale explain why cooperation matters in biodiversity management.
