New programme: Join the conversation

Learn about the development of the next North Sea Region Programme and how to get involved.

Amid the coronavirus crisis, the current North Sea Region Programme is still carrying on at high speed - and it is also time to start shaping the next one.

The process so far

Published in January, the European Commission’s draft regulations and its Orientation Paper set out an initial framework for the programming process. A Programme Preparation Group (PPG) representing the participating countries has been set up to steer the development and has conducted its first two meetings.

To further inform this work, the Joint Secretariat has produced a report outlining lessons learned from the current programme. The Secretariat is also commissioning a Scoping Study including a multi-level policy analysis and synthesis of relevant regional data.

Stakeholder consultation is an important part of the programming process. As face to face events are put on hold for the time being, we are creating options for stakeholder engagement online. This may be followed by physical workshops and meetings later this year.

We welcome your feedback and suggestions for the future programme at any time. Please feel free to share comments and opinions with the Secretariat by sending an email to info@northsearegion.eu, using the subject line “Stakeholder input”.

In addition, we have set up a Stakeholder Exchange Group on LinkedIn. The purpose of the group is to inform about the programme development and enable stakeholders to share views and comments. The group is open for anyone with an interest in the future of the North Sea Region Programme.

Join the LinkedIn group. Tip: To request membership, just press the ‘ask to join’ button.

Our website will also chart the programming process, so you can always find the latest information here, too.

You will also be able to participate in an online public consultation survey, expected to open in June. To receive regular Programme updates, subscribe to our newsletter.
