Highlights from @EURegionsWeek 2019
With over 10,000 attendees and 300 events, the atmosphere was buzzing at this year's EURegionsWeek, an annual four-day event during which cities and regions discuss how to improve European regional and local governance.
We were delighted to be part of a number of workshops at the event showcasing the success of transnational cooperation and more specifically involving several North Sea Region projects.
North Sea Region project, 2IMPREZS certainly grabbed the headlines during one of the events. They were chosen out of nearly 40 submissions received from across the whole Interreg community and then competed against seven other finalists to win at the Interreg Project Slam. Two school students from Belgium and the project coordinator used their six minute slot to inform the audience about the exciting work being undertaken in the project, which focuses on improve energy efficiency schools around the North Sea Region.

The action didn't stop there. The PARTRIDGE and 2IMPREZS projects contributed to round tables discussions on energy efficiency and risk management as part of a workshop being organised by the Interreg North West Europe programme entitled, the future of transnational cooperation: what impact in a changing Europe?.

It was no surprise that discussions about the future Cohesion Policy 2021-2028 and the changes foreseen in Interreg funding were high on the agenda. The value of cooperation was underlined repeatedly throughout theses discussions and important key words and phrases identified by participants in one final session reflected this.
