Step away from the car
The focus of this week's European Mobility Week 2018 campaign is about encouraging European citizens to explore the many different options available for getting from A to B and to think about which type of transport best suits their particular journey instead of just opting for the car.
The campaign provides a great opportunity to present sustainable mobility alternatives to local residents and to explain the challenges that cities and towns are facing as a result of increased amount of traffic on the roads.
During a recent visit to the SHARE-North Project we learnt that a number of local residents in Bremen, Bergen and Flanders are already taking steps in this direction. They have all made a conscious decision to use alternative mobility options, including car-sharing services which operate from SHARE-North’s mobility hubs (mobil.punkt).
Convenience, costs savings and a good conscience were just a few of the reasons local residents in these cities gave for using the car-sharing services.
