Coronacrisis: Support to projects nearing completion

27 March 2020 - Published by Lise Espersen

The Corona virus is affecting us all and many meetings, conferences and other activities have been cancelled or postponed as a result of the situation. Some projects can catch up on the delays caused by the virus later on but for others it means that it is impossible to carry out all project activities within the project timeline. This will especially affect projects that are near completion and where only few additional activities remain outstanding.

In order to address this, the Monitoring Committee has given permission for the Joint Secretariat to extend the project timeline by 6 months (the extension will not have budgetary effects). Time extensions should be used as a last resort when the project justifies that the unforeseen delay is related to COVID-19 measures taken on national, regional, local or organisational level.

Projects in need of such an extension must contact their project advisor and agree what needs to be done. Each request will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
