The project ‘Kempen2020’ has the ambition to reduce 20% carbon emissions by 2020 in the Campine Region (Covenant of Mayors). All the 29 municipalities of the Campine region support this goal.
On 27th April 2018, IOK organised the annual Kempen2020 Event where municipalities and local stakeholders came together for an inspiring afternoon about local climate and energy actions. Energy Challenges was one of the topics on the agenda. The Sint Pietersinstituut of Turnhout gave an interview about the school’s climate ambitions.
Representatives of the 29 municipalities of the Campine Region (mayors, alderman, employees), local and regional partner organisations, gathered at ROG, Markt 24-30, Mol, in Belgium, for this annual event.
The Sint-Pieterinstituut of Turnhout, represented by director Willem Janssens, was one of the schools participating in the ‘Energy Challenges’ in the Campine Region next school year. Willem Janssens gave an interview about the school’s climate ambitions.
The main goal is to inspire attendees with good, local examples, and to encourage inspiration and network actions.
