North Sea Conference 2018: Setting the course for the future

This year's conference is all about the future of the North Sea Region! The European Union prepares for a new budget period with new programmes. The North Sea Commission is starting to write a post-2020 North Sea Region strategy. What are the takeaways from current policies and projects that we want to see in future strategies and programmes?

When and where

The main conference takes place 13-14 June in Fredrikstad, Norway, starting with an opening dinner on 13 June followed by a full day programme on 14 June.

Getting to Fredrikstad: Fredrikstad is located relatively close to the well-connected airports of Oslo and  Gothenburg. Travelling to Fredrikstad by train or car takes less than 2 hours from Oslo and less than 3 hours from Gothenburg.

On 13 June, the North Sea Commission members will convene for their Annual Business Meeting and Executive Committee Meeting. Also on 13 June, the North Sea Region Programme will host a project communication workshop in Fredrikstad; projects will receive a direct invitation to join this event.
