The UN has assigned a Global Centre on Climate Adaptation to the cities of Rotterdam and Groningen. UNESCO-IHE is one of the parties involved in the establishment of the Centre, aiming to contribute with its expertise in capacity development.

The Netherlands, together with Japan and UN Environment, will lead the establishment of a Global Centre of Excellence on Climate Adaptation in the Netherlands. The main goal of the Centre is to address the growing need for support among countries, institutions and businesses for dealing with climate change adaptation issues, as natural disasters and economic disruptions for instance.

The FRAMES team, working on increasing resilience of areas, communities and authorities, is looking forward to come in contact and to make use of the expertise of the centre, working together at the same climate challenges.
